Antimicrobial Resistance

As I was reading through On Immunity, I saw a portion talking about resistant bacteria, and it made me curious as to the worldwide effects.  Here's an article from WHO.

  1. These are especially common in healthcare settings. In my opinion, antibiotics which kill bacteria due to biochemical actions will always encounter resistance, and we should look to other methods to control those bacteria. There are some promising new studies on this with nanotechnology, bacteriophage therapy, etc.
